A stylish contemporary escape nestled on the border of Beverly Hills and just minutes from the beaches of Santa Monica, W Los Angeles – West Beverly Hills continues to bring street art to life through its rotating art installation series curated by Los Angeles-based creative agency, December 9th.Next up is the wildly talented Mikael Brandrup, better known as “Mikael B.," whose signature artistic style has been featured in Art Basal Miami and in global collaborations with Nike, Google, American Express and LinkedIn.
Influenced by his early years as a graffiti artist and working within the urban contemporary genre, Mikael B. combines the graphic footprint of wildstyle graffiti, a complex and intricate genre in which forms, words, and letters are woven together, with bold colors and graphic shapes, to create a dynamic universe that can be compared to musical visualization. Through each piece, Mikael B. hopes to create a universe where everything is possible – a notion which goes in line with his personal way of life.Mikael’s bold installation at W Los Angeles - West Beverly Hills will feature his signature style, bursting with colors to fuel a visually expressive art piece that will no doubt spill volcanic energy, uncompromising attitude, and inherent candidness, in which he invites interpretations and appeal through explosive colors and geometric shapes.
Mikael B’s installation will debut in The Living Room at W Los Angeles - West Beverly Hills on Thursday, March 21 during the hotel’s REPRISE event from 8-10PM that will also feature Naomi Wild, who comes hot off her SXSW solo debut and collaboration with ODESZA’s “Higher Ground.” To see Mikael’s installation and to attend W Los Angeles' free REPRISE event.
